We're well into tulip time here.

Re: creationists. I think the "b" or "c" explanations would at least be more intellectually honest than pretending Noah had dinos onboard. I'd almost like to visit this museum for chuckles, but I don't think I want to seem to endorse their nonsensical views.

Renee -

Jay P from WFF here.
I have been...

Renee -

Jay P from WFF here.
I have been enjoying reading your blog.

Regarding the Creationists:
I once read much of Ashley Montagu's _Science & Creationism_ (0195032535) for a course. I recommend it to you. It is surprisingly engaging.

It is so very hard for me to even begin to imagine the mindset of the people who are putting together this museum. I am reminded of a part in the S&C book where it says that among the ways in which the 6000-year-crowd addresses the overwhelming implications of the fossil record are a) the great flood churned up the fossils, therefore their layers are not a useful guide to chronology [let's ignore the facts that the sequencing in the layers is consistent around the globe and that it is fairly orderly in an evolutionary sort of way]; b) there never were dinosaurs .... their fossils are a "joke" of God; c) the fossil record was put in the rocks by God as a test for our faith.

I just don't start to get it.

Enjoy the Spring. I am looking forward to the N. "Lemon Glow" that you once recommended to me. I think that I have at least a couple dozen of them. They are special, indeed, and each year they make me think of you!

Mindboggling, thanks for that ....enlightening pos...

Mindboggling, thanks for that ....enlightening post!
